Xiaomi announced its new flagship, the Mi 8. The Mi8, is the company’s first phone with a notch and is used to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the Chinese tech giant.
The Mi 8 has a 6.21-inch (18.7:9 aspect ratio) OLED notch style display manufactured by Samsung. The screen is equipped with an advanced 3D facial recognition system just like the one found on the iphone X And it houses a 20-megapixel selfie camera..
The device has a four-way curved glass back panel and an aluminum frame. The Mi8 is powered by the latest Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon 845 processor and the new 12-megapixel dual-camera setup and dual GPS frequency which is supposed to give more accurate location data.
The CEO of the company Lei Jun Xiaomi also claims that the Explorer Edition is the first Android phone in the world to use 3D face recognition technology, like the iPhone X’s Face ID and of course there’s an Animoji equivalent on board.
Lei Jun proudly claims the phone reached a 99 points overall rating by DxOMark, more than the 97 score of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s and the iPhone X.

6/128 GB for $467.48, while the most expensive
6/256 GB version will cost around $514.25.
The market launch is scheduled for June 5 when the Xiaomi Mi 8 will appear at
online and offline Mi Stores as well as retailers.
The Exclusive
Explorer Edition will have just one variant with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage.
It will cost around $600, but will hit the stores a month later.
